What are Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes, which usually take 12 to 24 months to complete. Most of the training can be ‘on the job’ at your business. They are Fully funded for levy-paying employers or a 5% contribution for SMEs. You can use them for existing employees and don’t have to take any new staff on to qualify for the funding. We specialise in the delivery of:
- Level 4 Management Higher Apprenticeship
- Level 5 Management Higher Apprenticeship
- Level 6 Career Development Professional Higher Apprenticeship

How Much Will It Cost
Apprenticeships are fully-funded by the National Apprenticeship Service in England and the Welsh Government in Wales. In order to access the funding employers need to be paying into the Levy. Those not contributing will need to pay a 5% contribution towards the qualification. Visit the Apprenticeship Levy FAQs for more information on the funding and how to access it.
Aims and Objectives of the Apprenticeship
Apprenticeships are no longer just for school-leavers, entry-level jobs or for tradespeople. They are a great way of developing as a professional and gaining a degree-level qualification or upskilling your workforce. They also provide the flexibility to do it alongside your job. Apprenticeships have been proven to increase productivity, improving efficiency and profitability.
The main objectives of the programme are to:
- Build a competent workforce
- Provide individuals with the essential skills, knowledge and experience needed to undertake their roles
- Allow individuals the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge and experience needed to progress to higher-level roles within the organisation
What Can I Expect the Apprenticeship to be Like?
All apprenticeships follow the same stages but Call of the Wild makes the experience unique for each of our apprentices. We don’t have set intakes so start dates are agreed with the apprentice. We get to know our learners and focus on building a positive, open and supportive relationship and tailor the programme to suit different learning styles. What do the apprenticeship levels mean?
Apprenticeships range from Level 2 to Level 7, and it’s important to understand these levels in order to select the correct level for you or your apprentice. At Call of the Wild we offer Levels 4-6. which equate to the following:
Level 4 – Equivalent to a Higher National Certificate (HNC)
Level 5 – Equivalent to a Foundation degree
Level 6 – Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
