Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advice and Guidance

This NVQ Diploma has been designed to reflect the work of experienced practitioners who work directly with clients disseminating information, advice, guidance and formal advocacy at Level 4.

Total Credit Value of qualification:

Minimum 37 credits

17 credits must be completed from Mandatory Units
20 credits minimum must be completed from Optional Units

Mandatory Units

17 credits of which 10 credits are at level 4

014    Manage personal caseload
016    Evaluate and develop own contribution to the service

030    Understand importance of legislation and procedures

20 credits minimum of which 9 credits must be at Level 4

005     Assist advice and guidance clients to decide on a course of action
006     Prepare clients through advice and guidance for the implementation of a course of action
007     Assist clients through advice and guidance to review their achievement of a course of action
008     Advocate on behalf of advice and guidance clients
009     Prepare to represent advice and guidance clients in formal proceedings
0010    Present cases for advice and guidance clients in formal proceedings
0011     Negotiate on behalf of advice and guidance clients
0012     Liaise with other services
0013     Enable advice and guidance clients to access referral opportunities
0034     Provide support for other practitioners
0019     Undertake research for the service and its’ clients
0020     Design information materials for use in the service
0021     Provide and maintain information materials for use in the service
0022     Identify and promote the contribution of Careers Education Guidance (CEG) within the organisation
0024     Integrate Careers Education Guidance (CEG) within the curriculum
0025     Promote Careers Education Guidance (CEG)
0026     Negotiate and maintain service agreements
0027     Facilitate learning in groups
0028     Prepare and set up mediation
0029     Stage and manage the mediation process
