Learning By Doing – Less Chalk and Talk
“Tell me, and I will forget.
Show me, and I may remember.
Involve me, and I will understand.” – Confucius
Call of the Wild’s objective is to create powerful learning experiences through the ‘Involve me and I will understand‘ principle. All our courses are designed to offer hands-on experience by doing and not just listening, using a metaphoric approach to explore particular aspects of team building and management training.
The Call of the Wild approach to all training and development has its origins in Kolb’s learning cycle. We believe that this action based approach, through experiential learning programmes, is the most productive in terms of retention of learning. All programmes are designed to be inclusive for all concerned to ensure maximum workplace impact.
Our programmes can contain a mix of classroom based sessions and outdoor practical based challenges to develop theory and highlight desired competencies. These can also be supplemented with online learning using our development academy, coaching and tutorial support. Our programmes are designed so as to have relevance to the workplace with these key lessons being drawn out by skilfull review, reflection and facilitation.
The underlying objective is for this learning to be taken back to the workplace for a real return on your investment.
