Brecon Beacons Star Gazing – Time-Lapse Video

Brecon Beacons Dark Sky Reserve

Take a look at this stunning time-lapse video showing the wonder the night sky in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park in Wales.  Dark-Sky Reserve status is a prestigious award given to only a handful of destinations that can prove they have an outstanding quality of night sky. They must also pledge to reduce light pollution to enhance the quality of this amazing asset.

Our location in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park  became the world’s 5th International Dark Sky Reserve in 2013 and the first International Dark Sky reserve in Wales, UK. The accreditation was awarded by the International Dark Sky Association, based in the USA. International Dark Sky Reserves are areas recognised as possessing an exceptional or distinguished quality of starry nights and nocturnal environment specifically protected for scientific, natural, educational, cultural, heritage or public enjoyment.
