In August this year we were lucky enough to have entertained premiership football team Aston Villa. Due to Covid-19 travel overseas was restricted therefore clubs who would normally hold their pre-season training out of the UK were unable to travel.
As an alternative they came to stay in Wales for their pre-season training camp.
Team Building Course For Aston Villa
In addition to playing some friendly matches during their stay Aston Villa also wanted a team building programme. They didn’t just want a classroom session but a challenging, outdoor experience with real challenges with the players placed under pressure.
Camping Under Canvas
We designed a programme which involved a journey across the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The full squad including the backroom staff were tasked with navigating their way across the mountains and completing tasks on the way to get them to their final destination – their campsite at our 70 acre training centre.
No Luxuries On This Team Building Event
They wanted a no frills camping experience so a field it was and walking off the mountain when it was almost dark was challenging for some when they then had to erect their own tents. Playing in front of 30,000 people not a problem, erecting a tent not so easy for some of them.
Results Were Excellent
The feedback was excellent and the results speak for themselves. After 4 games Aston Villa were top of the Premier League and one of the only unbeaten clubs in Europe.
